SUMMARY:Decolonizing Snack Time
DESCRIPTION:We all value snack time as an opportunity to connect with children\, creating an environment for children to practice social skills and to learn more about one another\, but when was the last time you considered if the foods offered at snack time reflected the children\, families\, and educators in your program? Learn from the experiences of Nicky Byres and Tianna Morris as they share how they developed a snack menu through reflection and listening that led to joyful interactions and improved relationships. \nDuring this event\, we will follow a facilitated discussion from Exchange Reflections on an article titled This Is Bread? A Journey to Decolonizing Our Snack Time from Nicky Byres and Tianna Morris. At the end of the discussion\, each participant will be welcomed to make a commitment to professional action steps inspired by the article. \nThis event will be facilitated by Southwest Ohio AEYC Equity Committee Co-Chairs Denise Steward and Bella Frueh. \nRegistrants will be sent a PDF version of the article and a link to the companion video within 3 business days of registration. Participants may request an attendance certificate via email after the event. \nRegister Now\n
