Nominations for the Southwest Ohio AEYC Board of Directors are open now! Nominate yourself or a colleague for our board today! Nominations are due by Wednesday, December 10th!

Terms begin on January 1, 2026. Terms are two years long. Board members may serve up to three consecutive terms. Board members must be current members of Southwest Ohio AEYC by the time their term begins and maintain membership throughout their term. Board meetings are held every two (2) months, starting in January. Committee meeting schedules vary by committee. Most board and committee meetings throughout the year are virtual. An annual strategic meeting is held in the fall and is in person. Additionally, events held throughout the year may be virtual or in person, and board members are encouraged to attend.

Multiple Board Member positions are available. All Board Members serve on a voluntary basis.

Primary Responsibility:

Board members represent general membership in board actions and decision-making.

Overview of Duties:

Participate as an active board member. Attend all Governing Board meetings. Serve on a committee and actively participate in the work of the committee. Prepare for meetings and to participate productively in discussions. Assist with Association events and initiatives.

Time Commitment:

Board Members should anticipate spending 2-4 hours each month participating in Association meetings, answering emails, and completing other tasks related to the work of the Association.

Special Consideration:

Special consideration will be given to nominees with the following characteristics:

  • Nominee works or lives in Clark, Champaign, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Logan, Miami, Preble, or Shelby County
  • Nominee primarly works directly with children and families in the early childhood mental health field
  • Nominee is a higher education faculty member
  • Nominee is primarily a classroom teacher working with children in the birth-to-8 age range
  • Nominee works or lives in northern Kentucky
  • Nominee works for a local early childhood funding initiative
  • Nominee works for a Head Start agency
  • Nominee is a child life specialist
