Safe on Saturday is a Month of the Young Child event that has been held in Dayton since 2002!

Join us for free sensory, large, and small motor activities, art, music, storytelling, and health demonstrations especially for young children! This is a family-friendly event open to all ages. No registration or RSVP is required. Arrive at the library at any time during the event!

Throughout the event, enjoy:

  • Safe on Saturday stations: water safety, bike safety, car seat safety, fire safety, and more
  • Community resources and information from area agencies and the Dayton Fire Dept.
  • Information on community early childhood learning programs

The Month of the Young Child (MOYC) highlights the importance of families, early childhood professionals, and communities working together to support every child’s healthy development and early learning.

The Dayton Committee of Southwest Ohio AEYC celebrates the Month of the Young Child locally during April. Nationally, the Week of the Young Child will be celebrated this year from April 6-12 by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Southwest Ohio AEYC, and early childhood professionals, children, and families across the country!
